A question for all those who are dissatisfied with their current lives.

How many times have you heard this question, “Where do you want to be in 5 years?” Employers ask this question most of the time and all the candidates are well prepared with the answers. Some do really mean it but majority are just trying to answer the question just to satisfy the interviewer. But have you really thought about what difference this question can make in your life?

Most people just go through lives day by day doing the same things they did a month ago. They don’t even think why they are doing the thing they are doing. Days pass by and they keep on complaining why they are not getting the raise they want, why their financial situation is not improving, why their social life is in danger, why are new problems arising in their lives every new day and many more.

If this is your situation, then you forgot to ask yourself one simple question that can change your life. It is:

“Based on my current daily actions and routines, where would I expect to be in five years?”

Set aside one day and look at your actions. Are you doing the tasks which will move you closer to your goals or happiness?

If you are not happy right now, it’s because what you have done till now was not enough to make you happy. Are you doing the same things, taking same actions and making same mistakes now? Don’t you think that if you keep on doing the same mistakes, you’ll have the same results in future as you are getting now?

If yes, then you need to ask yourself the question again, “Based on my current daily actions and routine, where would I expect to be in five years?”
Think about it in a quiet space and rethink about the changes you need to make in your daily actions in order to get where you want to be.
